The comment period for the per-and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) Chemical Action Plan that the Washington State Departments of Ecology and Health has been developing is now open until December 7, 2020.
The plan was developed to identify the potential health and environmental impacts of PFAS and to recommend actions to reduce or eliminate those impacts in Washington. Ecology is specifically seeking feedback specifically on the recommendations outlined in the CAP, and the sub-recommendations associated with each. The four overall recommendations are:
· Ensuring drinking water is safe
· Managing environmental PFAS contamination
· Reducing PFAS in products
· Understanding and managing PFAS in waste
Information about the draft CAP and ways to comment is available here.
During the comment period, Ecology will hold public comment webinar meetings. We will provide a brief overview of the CAP development process, and will reserve the majority of the time to accept public comments.
Select a date below to register for your preferred time. Please note that the public comment portion of the webinars will be recorded and may be subject to public disclosure.
